The Togo international was hospitalised after being diagnosed with a mild case of the virus and will now miss the club's pre-season tour of North America.
Adebayor will remain in England while his team-mates prepare for the 2014-15 season.
A statement from the club read: "We're pleased to report that Emmanuel Adebayor has been released from hospital after being admitted on Saturday with a mild bout of malaria.
"The striker will now rest for a minimum of seven days before making a return to training and will continue to be assessed."
Tottenham have three friendlies against MLS sides in the space of seven days, beginning with a clash against Seattle Sounders on Saturday.
